چکیده
Background: Diethylnitrosamine (DEN) is a hepatotoxin whose metabolic activation by liver cytochromes P450 responsible for the necrosis, mutagenicity and carcinogenicity of cells. The purpose this study was to evaluate protective effects Calotropis procera roots bark against DEN induced hepatocellular damage in rats.
Material Methods: Hepatoprotective activity ethanolic extract root were evaluated induction injury with Wistar male rats distributed six groups six. Serum hepatic markers, alanine amino transferase (ALAT), aspartate (ASAT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total protein albumin enzymes antioxidant activities, superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase, as well level malonedialdehyde (MDA) determined homogenate. Histological analysis carried out on sections rat livers. Phytoconstituents have also been studied. Results: Pretreatment showed significant decrease ALAT, ASAT ALP while there an increase compared treated only DEN. It SOD catalase MDA levels suggesting hepatoprotective effect extract. Observation confirmed results biochemical parameters which would attest that hepatoprotective. such sterols, triterpenes phenolic compounds demonstrated.
Conclusion: Ethanolic has shown could be due its content sterols triterpenic compounds.

Ethanolic extract (50 %) of stems of Calotropis gigantea R. Br. (Asclepiadaceae) at doses of 250 and 500 mg kg-1 were studied for hepatoprotective activity in male Wistar rats with liver damage induced using carbon tetrachloride, 2 mL kg-1 twice a week. The protective effect of C. gigantea extract was compared with the standard drug silymarin. Various biochemical parameters such as aspartate am...

متن کاملCalotropis procera root extracts block VEGF-induced angiogenesis: quantitative analysis.
Angiogenesis is controlled by number of growth factors, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Plant derived anti-angiogenic molecules acting via VEGF are being investigated for curtailing angiogenesis dependent diseases. In this study, methanolic (CM), n-hexane (CH), ethylacetate (CE) and water (CW) extracts of the roots of Calotropis procera were tested for anti-angiogenic activ...
